Five years ago, the IOC, International Olympic Committee and Lacoste have announced the launch of the first exclusive Olympic Heritage lifestyle apparel collection, developed by Lacoste as part of a new licensing agreement, in line with the IOC Global Licensing Strategy.

The agreement was based on the quest for IOC to keep the Olympics spirit relevant outside the events period, focusing on lifestyle products more than merchandising. Hence the four celebrative Lacoste collections, inspired to Grenoble 1968, Mexico City 1968, Los Angeles 1984 and Tokyo 1964 were born, and now, with the agreement renewed, ajust launched Barcelona ‘92 edition.

Lacoste has chosen Barcelona ‘92 as the Olympics games of the modern era, developing a range which celebrates the cultural references to the 90’s aesthetics. The collection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, windbreakers, pants, and also accessories like caps and backpacks, all featuring Barcelona 92 logo printed in bold colours and Cobi, the mascot created by artist Xavier Mariscal.

Available at Lacoste stores and online, and through selected retailers, this collection marks another step to the brand’s strategy, aimed to enlarge its reach to a global clluster of fans.
