Baselworld, the world’s largest watches exhibition, is the best venue for watch brands to showcase their limited editions. This year we noticed that a growing number of them are co-branded or collaborations, just like what’s happening in the fashion and accessories markets; we tried to pack some of the most interesting cases in this gallery, for your insipiration.

First off, motors, as the passion for racing or for luxury cars is the closest to time measurement. Oris carries on with Audi Sport, launching its second limited edition in 2,000 pieces. Hublot showcased a new Ferrari model, the Big Bang Ferrari Speciale which comes in two different styles, 250 pieces each. Tissot, MotoGP sponsor and official timekeeper, edits a new model, Tissot T Race MotoGP, in 3,333 units.

But the newest mood in collaborations in limited edition comes from celebrities and brand ambassadors. Tag Heuer showcased the first CR7 model with Cristiano Ronaldo, green colored as inspired by football field; for a younger fan base Tag Heuer Formula1 David Guetta is the new nightlife mojo for the Swiss brand. In a more standard way, Elvis Presley sticks to his collaboration with Hamilton, whose Ventura model was firstly featured by “the Pelvis” in 1957 onstage in his movie Blue Hawaii. 2015 would be his 80th birthday, and Hamilton celebrates with a special Ventura Elvis 80.

Two interesting pieces at Omega booth. One James Bond inspired, with the Seamaster Spectre watch, in 15.007 pieces to celebrate the upcoming movie. The other is the Seamaster “Moonwatch” Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy edition. For those who ask what in the world links Peanut’s dog to space missions, we must go back to 1970, when NASA celebrated the successful mission with a silver Snoopy award. This timepiece, featuring Snoopy also in the back of the case, is launched this year to celebrate Apollo 13 45th anniversary, and available in 1970 pieces.

Then, two outsiders with Hublot, which probably are a sign of the market’s wish for crossovers. Pop artist Britto (last year involved in Brazil 2014 limited edition advertising) signs a double colorful collaboration with 2 models of Classic Fusion Enamel, one ceramic (50 pieces), one platinum (30 pieces). And Italia Independent, Lapo Elkann’s growing eyewear brand, signs a collaboration with two Big Bang models, which come in 500 pieces each, in a special packaging with a pairing Italian Independent frame.
