Desigual

The brand for all with the upbeat image that was the brainchild of Thomas Meyer has continued to go its own sweet way in brand extension but licensing too.

At Bread’n’Butter in Berlin Desigual presented their own home-grown brand extension project and a range of licenses, all oozing the positive spirit and fun that are the brand’s trademark.

The brand extension is a new collection of footwear for Autumn-Winter 2012, which like its current Spring collection, was entirely designed, manufactured and retailed by Desigual themselves. The footwear is complemented by a super-coherent line of cheerful, colourful bags and accessories which are just so Desigual.

Obviously licensing can wait, but in the meantime it’s adding value to the brand thanks to their ongoing partnership with Cirque du Soleil for part of their collection, and two new fun entries. Minnie Mouse plays on the bold patterns typical of the brand in some items of the collection, while Desigual pays tribute to the iconic Michael Jackson with an all-colour limited edition in licensing.

We promised the Desigual strategic communications people on our honour not to publish the photos we took of all the yummy clothes, but take it from us, they’re hot.

Hail Pedro!  :- )
