It is now customary for luxury fashion brands to create capsule collections celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year, the first non-European anniversary to enter the calendar of many fashion labels. One of the main reasons to celebrate this anniversary is the interesting narrative opportunities that its animal iconography offer in creating special collections.

Chinese New Year 2022, will start on February 1st, and according to Chinese astrology it will be the Year of theTiger.

Etro is the first in the row in the celebrations, with a capsule collection starring the strong and courageous Tigress, one of the protagonists of DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda.

This is not the first celebration cartoon-oriented Etro, which in 2020 celebrated the Year of the Rat with a collection dedicated to Tom & Jerry.

Etro x Kung Fu Panda is a unisex collection, created in collaboration with Universal Brand Development, reinterpreting the symbolism of the tiger in a funny and unexpected way. Along with Tigress, also Ping Xiao Po, , Shifu, Mantis, Crane and Monkey play a role in the characters gallery.
