We think we already covered the “meta trend” in the lifestyle business on our last Brand Jam Magazine (click here for just another self-referential act), but now Jeremy Scott comes handy to fully explain the concept with the new Moschino Barbie and Ken collaboration.

Since beginning december is available The Moschino Barbie & Ken Giftset collection, created with Mattel to celebrate a partnership which was born in 2014. The collection includes a combined Moschino Barbie and Ken gift box at 240€, and both single character’s boxes at 86€ each, featuring the same bold looks Jeremy Scott and the Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel Stella Maxwell wore to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

For that event Jeremy Scott designed the MTV Video Music Awards Moonman, along with the red carpet pre-show set.

“What I felt was different and significant this time (was) referencing an actual moment from my life by doing a nod to the looks that I wore with real-life Barbie, Stella Maxwell, to the MTV Video Music Awards last year,” Scott told InStyle. “Also, with this being the first Ken doll I designed, it seemed befitting for him to be modeled after my iconic tux and no shirt red-carpet look.”

Moschino Barbie & Ken Giftset is Barbie more expensive doll to date, but if the sell out will prove just near the first Moschino Barbie collaboration, nobody should worry about stocks.
