KAWS, the New Jersey artist and designer, has always been linked to the world of fashion, since the beginning of his career in the 90s, when through his graffiti art, he subverted the billboards of brands such as Calvin Klein, Guess and DKNY. Those acts quickly brought him to jump to real collaborations with numerous fashion brands, such as Dior, Nike, Supreme or Uniqlo, establishing himself as a recurring face in both high and low tiers of fashion, and in the street subculture as well.

It is in the wake of these collaborations that the first range of products designed by KAWS for The North Face has just been presented.

The collection includes clothing and accessories for men, women and kids is used by KAWS as a canvas, on which the artist plays with the theme of perception and visibility, through his signature eye-catching, abstract patterns, and a bright, extensive color palette.

The collaboration develops through a reinterpretation of the North Face Freeride collection, ideal for outdoor lovers, but also involves the brand’s historic and iconic items, such as the 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket.

The North Face XX KAWS limited edition collection will be available at The North Face stores, select dealers, and on www.thenorthface.com, beginning February.
