Moleskine-Troilo

Moleskine, probably the most famous notebook in the world, it’s not new to special editions and licensing but with a special attention to its partners. For example we can list names as Peanuts, LEGO, Star Wars or The Hobbit. They also extended their products to bags and device accessories that carry laptops, portfolios, textbooks, folders etc.

But maybe the most interesting project is Moleskine Detour Project, a travelling archive of over 250 Moleskine notebooks donated by celebrated creative thinkers, artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers, illustrators, and writers around the world. This archive belongs to and supports the work of non-profit foundation lettera27, which works for the right to literacy, education and access to knowledge and information around the world.

The new entry of this project is Paolo Troilo, an Italian artist that lives and works in Milan. He creates beautiful black and ivory self-portrait of his naked body painted using his fingertips like a brush. His works are so real that he gained Men’s Health Italia cover of this December.
He realized 10 artworks using an A3 Moleskine notebook as a base, for this Limited Edition called TM (meaning Troilo & Moleskine) Project, 9 of which are now exhibited in his solo show at Coup d’Etat in San Francisco. The tenth of this art-Moleskine has been donated to the Detour project and is now on display in the just-opened Moleskine Store at 75 University Place NY.
