Pitti Bimbo, the platform for global kidswear, closed the gates of its 87th edition last week, with a timid +1% growth in visitors, reflecting a branded and luxury market which still thrives despite the low-end competition from the mass retailers.

Licensing has always been a leading formula here, both catering to the kids version of the adult global designers brands, and enriching the designs of the kidswear specialists, but this edition proved more selective.

In the first case, the most interesting launches of this edition are the kids’ ranges of Alberta Ferretti and GCDS, the growing luxury/streetwear brand, licensed to Daddato. Chicco 60th anniversary generated a reflection about how the kids world has changed through the years.

In the second case, an interesting treatment of Lola Bunny by Monnalisa, the new ranges of Trolls and Dragons Trainer by Sicem, merit a mention, along with the activation of Uglydolls, compiled by Alessandro Enriquez with a number of labels, into the Fashion Comics review.
