Stanley Kubrick’s visionary imagery, which had inspired Alessandro Michele for the video of the last Gucci Exquisite collection, inspires now the Los Angeles luxury eyewear brand Jacques Marie Mage.

The brand, founded by Jerome Mage in 2014, is probably more into design and culture than the standard fashion, and JMM, as it is now well known not only on the west coast, boasts a special care to sophisticatedly storytelling limited editions which adds up to its handcraft methods, based on machines from the 1940s and 50s, and high quality materials.

“Our design practice is inextricably informed by the cultural revolutions of the last three centuries, drawing encouragement and inspiration from the great epic and anti-heroes of our collective histories”, that’s how the brand express its ethos.

Stanley Kubrick, perfectly matching this vision, is in fact included in a fil rouge of culture-driven limited editions where icons like Blue Note, Velvet Underground, Pier Paolo Pasolini, which the brand have already celebrated.

Jacques Marie Mage angle in telling Stanley Kubrick story in this frame named “1980”, recalls his technical virtuosity and the high, dark and also violent language, as opposed to the mainstream eccess of the ‘80s. The frame, produced in a batch of 400 pieces only, is actually inspired to the classic aviator style wore by the director on the set of two of his greatest film: The Shining (1980) and Full Metal Jacket (1987).

A narrative path confimed by the special packaging, not only a case, but a dedicated kit including a hologram with series number and authenticity certificate, where design is the key point.
