On August 6th, during the friendly march against the Italian champions of AC Milan, LR Vicenza’s new home kit for the 2022-2023 season debuted, designed and manufactured by the new technical sponsor Fila, in collaboration with Diesel, brand of the OTB group and owner of the football club.
The bold and street style of Fila returns after over twenty years of absence to dress an Italian football team, the only one in Europe, in a kit that consists, as per regulation, of the first jersey (the home one), the second dedicated to away matches and the “third”.
The new Home jersey of the biancorossi team maintains the traditional combination of red and white vertical stripes, the graphic pattern characterised by a thin zigzag and the indispensable element, on the left breast, of the blue R – Lanerossi’s historic symbol. In the middle, the Diesel logo is clearly visible. While on the back is the shield that is the symbol of the Province of Vicenza, which has been present there for some time.
The Made in Italy of the three “players” is certainly the key of this collaboration, even if on the other hand it’s impossible not to notice the increasingly indissoluble union of football with fashion: if with the collaboration of AC Milan and Puma with Koché we already had an example of an eco-friendly jersey completely revisited, thanks to Diesel we find a jersey, and a football team, which seem to almost want to be the “sportswear” extension of the brand founded in 1978 by Renzo Rosso. A clear attempt to bring the club back to the old times of glory but also to use “the shirt” as a manifesto of an astute and innovative communication strategy. Also because, at first glance, it certainly jumps to the eye, more than others, the logo of the famous fashion brand.
Diesel, Fila and L.R. Vicenza will play this season bringing with them the shared values, matured in more than a century of history, in a journey that has just begun and that aims to exalt the brand’s image, to confirm their excellence in products Made in Italy, for sport, and not only.
