Lacoste: three artists reinvent the crocodile

Three different artists, united by their dreamy touch, have been called by Lacoste to reinvent the crocodile in a pop limited edition, including Polos, sweatshirts, baseball caps and accessories like fragrances, all emblazoned with pop motifs.

The artistic duo FriendsWithYou, Jeremyville’s prolific designs and Michel Tixier’s clear approach, teamed with the French brand playing with joyful colours and inventive forms to keep the crocodile a desired contemporary icon.

Between New York and Sydney, the Australian artist Jeremyville crafts his own style drawing inspiration from street art and comic culture In Jeremyville’s universe defined by geometric designs and rounded shapes, Lacoste crocodile is joined by tennis rackets and balls, transformed into hybrid and surrealist creatures.. A prolific, arty jungle labyrinth. Reinterpreted by American illustrator and designer Jeremyville, the emblematic crocodile brings a twist to Lacoste’s deceptively classic polo, and makes its mark on other items like sweatshirts, caps, scarves.

The French illustrator Jean-Michel Tixier, with his elegant lines and off-beat humour, has thought up a crocodile in his own image. Featuring clear designs and Tixier’s signature swathes of colour, the croc is made more human with the traits of, in turn, a stylish hipster, a sportswear addict or a preppy daddy.

With their monumental installations, their immersive performances and their unifying mantra “Magic, Luck and Friendship”, FriendsWithYou wants to re-enchant the world. Based in Los Angeles since 2002, the artistic duo led by American Samuel Borkson and Cuban Arturo Sandoval III delivers a joyful and playful aesthetic. With the participation of this Californian collective, minimal charachers are invented alongside the crocodile, to rethink Lacoste iconic classic polo shirt with pop and joyful designs.
