NSFW capsule collection: HUF X Penthouse

HUF-Penthouse-02

HUF, the skate and streetwear brand is well known for its unconventional, subversive character and a keen eye for collaboration opportunities. The many side-projects initiated by the brand founded by skater, Keith Hufnagel, range from its annual releases for Thrasher magazine, collaborations with artists Cleon Peterson and Patrick Nagel, projects for breast cancer awareness and traditional licensing fare like Peanuts.

HUF unveiled its most recent project only a few days ago, with a vast new ‘NSFW’ capsule collection made with the iconic men’s softcore porn magazine, Penthouse. Both brands share humble beginnings and a do-it yourself approach, and the collection captures porn’s golden era with a hand-selection of archive issue covers as well as a hybrid HUF x Penthouse key logo used for gold details and components.

The collection includes an embroidered coach jacket with custom-print satin lining, a French terry pullover, drop needle football jersey, velvet track suit and silk boxers. But the capsule it isn’t just limited to clothing: also featured are exclusive premium leather sneakers, a satin snapback, skate decks, vanilla-scented air freshener, a gold-plated bottle opener keychain, and co-branded hats.

Taking cues from censorship laws on the display of adult magazines, socks and skate decks are packaged in special black plastic sleeve.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, a provocative look-book has been realized by photographer Kenneth Cappello, featuring 2016’s Penthouse ‘Pet of the Year’ Kenna James.
