Puma boards One Piece

The manga/anime trend continues to attract brands and Japanese-inspired pop-themed collabs are even more frequent, especially if we speak about streetwear.

Among the most sought after titles, Dragon Ball, which is recording a golden season, is on top of the list, flanked by One Piece, another success signed by Shōnen Jump and Toei.
In Japan, the Eiichiro Oda’s franchise is certainly one of the most popular, but although it has captured the attention of many western fans, it cannot yet be considered one of those mainstream success like Pokémon or Dragon Ball.

Perhaps, this is the reason that led the German sportswear giant, Puma, to decide to limit this special capsule only to the Japanese market.
Nevertheless, the result is really interesting and original.

The design favour subtle references and attention to details over a more commercial character all-over.
The sneakers dedicated to the series are a flashy makeover of the classic Cell Venom, with gold and silver details, a crisscrossed chain that wraps the shoes and a One Piece themed key charm.

The announcement comes after a teaser dropped back in August, and a PUMA Cell Endura, inspired by the pirate ship “Thousand Sunny”.
The western fans of the franchise unable to grab one of these limited editions can always find comfort in the new Uniqlo UT collection dedicated to the series.
